Free Email Verifier
Check an email address before you send: syntax, domain, mail server and disposable addresses. No account needed, two free checks a day.
What the free check covers
- Syntax: the address is shaped like an email address. Catches typos such as a missing @ or a comma.
- Domain: the domain after the @ resolves in DNS (it has an address record). A failure here usually means a typo in the domain.
- Mail server: the domain declares a mail server (an MX record). Without one, the domain is very unlikely to receive email.
- Disposable address: the domain belongs to a temporary email service.
What the full check adds
The mailcheck verification plans add the decisive step: a short conversation with the recipient's mail server, stopped before anything is sent, to confirm the mailbox exists. They also detect catch-all domains, which accept every address, and give each address a quality score. How it works, step by step, is in how to verify an email address before you send. Plans and volumes are on the verification page.
Frequently asked questions
Is this email verifier really free?
Yes. You can run two checks a day, without an account and without a credit card.
Does verifying an address send an email?
No. The free checks only read public DNS records. Nothing is sent to the address.
Why does it not say whether the mailbox exists?
Proving that a mailbox exists requires a conversation with the recipient mail server, which the free tool does not run. The mailcheck verification plans do, and also detect catch-all domains.
Can I check a whole list?
Yes, with a verification plan: import a CSV file and every address is checked. Plans start at $29 a month for 5,000 verifications.
Need more checks? The verification plans add the full mailbox check, CSV import and a REST API, from $29 a month for 5,000 verifications.
